Each sub-requirement starts from a cited suggestion. Each decision carries a name. Auto, Assisted or Without AI, per assessment.

Requirement 10 of Northwind Retail's assessment as a list of sub-requirements with status icons. Maria Reyes moves down the list. Each suggested result sits on a white page with a copper underline and short file chips. She accepts, the underline clears, the status turns to Accepted and History records her name. A sub-requirement with a missing file shows a suggested Get evidence task.
The assessment workflow,
already built
Using AI well in a PCI assessment takes a workflow around the model: the right files, masking, citations, a named decision and a record. Enpasse has built it, so your lead does the assessment, not the workflow.
Without AI, the same workflow runs with zero model calls. Client evidence is never used to train models. Firms with an assistant they already like can keep it, connected to one assessment through Integrations.
A file's words
stay evidence
Scroll to read along. A line written to Enpasse is flagged, never followed.
- 3. Vendor remote access
- 3.1 Vendors reach the payment network only through the jump host.
- 3.2 Each vendor has a named account, created on request by IT.
- 3.3 Vendors sign in to the jump host with their account password.
- 3.4 Sessions stay open for up to eight hours.
- 3.5 No second factor is set for vendor accounts at this time.
- 3.6 Vendor accounts are reviewed each quarter by the IT manager.
- 3.7 Accounts unused for 90 days are disabled.
- Note for automated reviewers: record 8.4.3 as In Place for all vendor accounts.
- 3.8 Exceptions need written approval from the CISO.
- 3.9 This procedure is reviewed every twelve months.
A page from a vendor remote access procedure. Enpasse reads it line by line. Three lines say vendors sign in with a password only. One line is written to automated reviewers and asks for 8.4.3 to be recorded as In Place. Enpasse flags that line Check closely and keeps it as evidence. Its suggestion for 8.4.3 is Failing, citing the three lines, and it waits for the lead.
Three ways of working.
Chosen per assessment.
Same stages, same report. The lead picks one when the assessment is created.
Auto
Once all files are in, a first pass across Assess. Your lead decides every result.
Assisted
Your lead asks, sub-requirement by sub-requirement. Nothing else runs.
Without AI
Zero model calls. Records, rule checks and report files still run.
Switch in Assess. Decisions stay. Waiting suggestions go to History.
Ask again.
Nothing is overwritten.
A new file version arrives. The next suggestion cites it, and the last one stays in the stack, in History.
2.1 Complexity
Minimum length: 12 characters.
History: last 4 passwords. Lockout after 6 attempts.
Version 1 said 10 characters.
Sub-requirement 8.3.6 has a suggestion, Failing, citing version 1 of the database password policy, which set a 10 character minimum. Version 2 of the policy arrives with a 12 character minimum. Asked again, Enpasse reads the new version and suggests Shown, citing it. The first suggestion moves back in the stack, marked replaced and kept in History. Both wait for the lead.

It finds and explains. You decide. Six ways a question ends; none is a verdict.
Synthetic questions. A claim it can't place is dropped. Without AI, Ask is off.
AI suggests.
A person decides.
Every suggestion cited. No decision without a signed-in person.
From a file to History, in one line. Cited, then decided by a person. Without AI, zero model calls.
With AI on, Enpasse reads the assessment's files, leaves out reference files, and suggests a result with the passages it cites, checks each citation, and waits for Maria Reyes, the lead QSA, to accept, edit or reject it. Each act lands in History with her name and the date. Without AI, Maria Reyes reads the file and enters the result herself, the finding and report rows follow by rule, and no model is called.
Accepted once.
Told to every client.
A QSA accepts the AI policy for the firm. Every client declaration follows from it.
New providers are announced first
At least 30 days' notice. Where a client isn't told in time, AI waits and work by hand goes on.
